Born Temitope Balogun Joshua popularly known as Prophet T. B. Joshua, is a Nigerian Pastor, televangelist and philanthropist. The man of God who is commonly referred to as T. B. Joshua was born June 12, 1963. He is the leader and founder of The Synagogue, Church of All Nations (SCOAN), also runs the famous Emmanuel TV television station from Lagos.
Prophet T. B. Joshua is recognised for his popularity across Africa and his online presence with 2,500,000 fans on Facebook and nearly 500,000 YouTube subscribers. T. B. Joshua is no doubt the most popular Pastor on “YouTube, he is commonly described as the “Oprah of evangelism”, his Emmanuel TV is Africa’s biggest Christian television network and the most subscribed Christian ministry channel on YouTube . It YouTube videos has more than 240 million views which is not common with other Christian ministry channel in the platform.

Childhood, Early Life And Education — T.B Joshua Biography
Prophet T. B. Joshua who is commonly called T. B. Joshua was born on June 12, 1963 in the small village of Arigidi in Akoko, Ondo State, Nigeria. He disclosed in an interview that some unusual circumstances surrounded his birth as he remained for 15 months in his mother’s womb before being born, which wasn’t suppose to be so because the normal pregnancy period is 12 months before delivery takes place. Three days after his delivery another thing happened that created shock in his family, a large boulder crashed through the roof of his house, missing him by a few inches. Due to the numerous circumstances surrounding his life, his mother named him, ‘Temitope’, meaning, ‘What You (God) have done for me is worthy of thanks’.
Prophet T. B. Joshua attended St. Stephen’s Anglican Primary School in Arigidi, Akoko, Nigeria precisely from 1971 to 1977. As a result of his poor background, he didn’t get to complete secondary school education . This penury didn’t stop him from serving his God as he kept on preaching the gospel in his community and was popular called “small pastor” . He gained recognition for his spiritual prowess / boldness after confronting a madman in the school premises and collecting his weapon from him to stop him from hurting anybody.
While in school , he was the leader of ‘Scripture Union’ . At some point , he started washing people’s feet on the muddy streets of Lagos before moving to a poultry farm where he had the demeaning job of carrying chicken waste. From there, he participated in a military interview for an enlistment but fate didn’t let it happen as God had another quest for him. While on his way to an interview in the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna, their car developed fault and he was left stranded for six good days.
In 1987, he visited a ‘prayer mountain’ to seek the face of God. There, he fasted and prayed for 40 days and 40 nights. He wrote that in a heavenly vision, he received divine anointing and a covenant from God to start his ministry. He started building his church ‘The Synagogue, Church of All Nations (SCOAN)’.
After building his ministry organization , he started healing people with incurable disabilities and illnesses such as HIV/AIDS. The videos that was released in his Emmanuel TV created lot of controversy and received hundreds of thousands of views. He has been able to heal a lot of persons through ‘Anointing Water’ while some through the watching of his Emmanuel TV station from their respective home as they do not have the luxury to be physically present in the venue .
The SCOAN has been described as “Nigeria’s biggest tourist attraction” and the most sought after church in Nigeria by religious tourists from outside the country. Foreigners seeking healing resort to his church because they have the faith that he can help them put an end to their pain. Thousands of foreigners are flocking to attend the church’s weekly services . In a recent statement released by the Nigerian Immigration Service indicated that six out of every ten foreign travelers coming into Nigeria are coming to SCOAN.
Emmanuel TV, The Synagogue, Church of All Nations television station, broadcasts 24/7. Its Sunday services are broadcast live. Joshua’s programmes also air weekly on a number of local television stations across Africa. They are now on DStv and GOtv which started in November 2015.
