Peter Osaze Odemwingie is a is a Nigerian professional footballer who plays as a forward and winger. The talented soccer star was bred in Russia and Nigeria, he officially kick started his football career with Bendel Insurance in the Nigeria Premier League. From this platform he made a move to European football with Belgian side La Louvière where he spent three seasons before moving to French side Lille.
While Odemwingie was at Lille, he scored 26 goals which prompted Lokomotiv Moscow to increase his fee to £10 million for his services in July 2007. According to records, Odemwingie scored 23 goals in three-and-a-half years for Lokomotiv before leaving the club and making a switch to English side West Bromwich Albion in August 2010. They relocated to Nigeria when he was just two years old before completing his secondary education in Russia. According to him in a recent interview, football started as a passion for him while he was still a kid growing up in Russia. His professional football career kicked started in 1994 in the youth teams of Kamaz and CSKA Moscow. When he clocked seventeen years old, he returned to his fathers land Nigeria and played breify at AS Racines Lagos . His professional football career started properly when he joined Nigeria Premier League side Bendel Insurance, where he scored 19 goals in 53 league appearances from 2000 to 2002 . Following his unsuccessful trial with Anderlecht , he resorted to join La Louvière in 2003 and his contribution is the one to remember.
