Kandyse McClure is a South African-born Canadian actress best known for her role as Anastasia Dualla in the Sci Fi Channel’s television program Battlestar Galactica . The curvy actress is also popular for her role as Dr. Clementine Chasseur on the Netflix original series Hemlock Grove.

She rose to stardom after playing the role of Hemlock Grove in Hemlock Grove but made her acting debut with TV show “Romeo Must Die” as Store Clerk in 2000. She rose from grass to grace and became one of the most sought after South African actress within the shortest time in her acting career.

Early Life And Background

The ravishing actress was born Candice McClure on the 22 of March 1980 in Durban, South Africa. The SA celebrity who has a Cape Coloured descent is currently 38 years old as of April 9th.


Candice McClure graduated from West Vancouver Secondary School in 1998. Much is not know about her university education but we learnt that she is graduated from the university successfully before venturing into acting.

Acting Career

Candice McClure officially made her debut in television when she landed a lead role with Lou Diamond Phillips in the 1999 telefilm In a Class of His Own. After getting this role, it was followed by the Fox Family teen drama “Higher Ground” where she acted alongside Jewel Staite, Hayden Christensen, and A.J. Cook.

She also acted on NBC Saturday-morning series Just Deal, both of which premiered in 2000. The year 2000 was a great year for her career as she played a recurring role in the Canadian drama television series Da Vinci’s Inquest.

Two years later which is 2002, she landed another roles on Showtime’s Jeremiah, alongside Luke Perry and Malcolm-Jamal Warner where she portrayed the recurring character of Elizabeth Munroe. She also played the role of Sue Snell in the telefilm remake of Stephen King’s novel Carrie that same year.

McClure played the character of Anastasia “Dee” Dualla on the Sci Fi Channel series Battlestar Galactica from the year 2003 to 2009 as she enjoyed the best time in her career. Her character as a Petty Officer Second Class in the Colonial Fleet, was not included in the original 1978 series but was initially an analogue of Sarah Rush’s original series character Flight Corporal Rigel. She also featured in King’s Children of the Corn and Cole in 2009. She co-starred in 2010 television series Persons Unknown but unfortunately the series was not renewed for a second season after it was initially picked up by NBC.

She played the girlfriend of Stuart Davis in the independent short film Just Be Yourself in 2011, it was a comedy film about a man who is offered a job. She also teamed up with Davis again in 2011 to co-host the second season of the late-night HDNet program S3x, God, Rock ‘n’ Roll. The following year, she joined the cast of Netflix original series Hemlock Grove which was premiered in January 2013.

She also featured as Viola Desmond in the 82nd Heritage Minute by Heritage Canada featuring Viola Desmond to mark the beginning of Black History Month. She appeared in the video filmed on location in High River, Alberta in June 2015 and released on 2nd February 2016.

Personal Life

McClure is currently married to musician Cylenz. She started working with non-profit organization CARE Canada in the year 2013, their main focus is to address poverty in the world’s developing regions.
