Early Life And background
Dumas was born Joselyn Canfor-Dumas on the 31 August 1980 in Ghana, she spent her early childhood in Accra, Ghana. The top Ghanaian screen goddess was raised by a single parent before she became a full grown adult and started fending for her self. She has spent most of her early days in Ghana and she is not the traveling type and hasn’t been to so many countries apart from United States ans some African countries.
Joselyn Dumas was single-handedly raised by her mother who she doesn’t joke with and she so much adores her mum. The actress has been seen on several occasions expresses endless gratitude to her biological mother for contributing so much to the success of her career. We have observed that she doesn’t really talk about her father that much , the actress once revealed that there was no relationship between her and her father.
Her biological mum is named Bridget while her father’s name remain a misery but we learnt that her father is now married to another woman.

Joselyn Dumas career started when she was still practicing paralegal until she relocated to Ghana to follow her dreams of becoming a Television personality. She officially launched her career on Television as the host of Charter House’s Rhythmz, an entertainment show, she has interview many celebrities.
She was picked by one of Ghana’s biggest Television Networks to host their first own produced flagship Talk show, The One Show, which was aired from 2010 to 2014. Needless to say, she is currently the host for a new TV talk show @ Home with Joselyn Dumas which is aired across Africa and parts of Europe.
She landed her debut role in the movie tiled Perfect Picture was so outstanding and it made a lasting impression on the director who subsequent called her for other movies roles. She earned her massive success two years later when she starred in the Shirley Frimpong-Manso movie series Adams Apples. In the movie, she played the role of “Jennifer Adams” which earned nomination for Best Actress in a lead role alongside Hollywood Actress Kimberly Elise at the 2011 Ghana Movie Awards.
After acting in the block-buster movie Adams Apples, she became an household name that fans look out for in Ghanaian movies. She has acted with some of Africa’s finest actors, including John Dumelo, Majid Michel of Ghana and OC Ukeje of Nigeria. She has played major roles in several movies and series including Love or Something Like That, A Sting in a Tale, Perfect Picture, A Northern Affair and Lekki Wives to name a few.
Don’t also forget that the Ghanaian actress is a talented producer who has produce and co-produced some beautiful movies. She co-produced Miss Malaika Ghana, one of the most prestigious beauty pageant in Ghana, from 2008 to 2010. Joselyn is also the proud founder and CEO of Virgo Sun Company Limited, a production entity which under her directorship, has already co-produced its first movie Love or Something Like that, endorsed by the UNAIDS.
She revealed her intention to invest in more television programs or series like V Republic, an edgy television series produced by Sparrow Productions with Executive Production by VirgoSun. She is currently one of the most sought after and most celebrated Ghanaian celebrity as a result of her contribution to the growth of Ghanaian movie industry.
Dumas is currently the Brand ambassador of Range Rover Evoque Ghana and Jobberman Ghana, a top online jobs advertisement company.
