Empress Njamah is a veteran Nigerian Nollywood actress, producer, model, entrepreneur, television personality and a philanthropist who ventured into acting many years ago1995 precisely. She is one of the oldest Nollywood actress who was able to create a brand name for self and make a lot of money from her career within the shortest possible time.
She has won several awards and earned some decent nominations as well. She was nominated for best supporting actress at the Africa Movie Academy Awards in year 2012 but lost out to Terry Pheto.
Early Life And Story
Empress Njamah was born on 16th November 1980 to a Nigerian father and Cameroonian mother in Njaaba, a small village in Oru Local Government Area of Imo State which is pegged at the south eastern part of Nigeria . The dark-skinned actress is one of the most celebrated actress, most beautiful, creative, gifted and highly respected for her ability to interpret movie roles .
Empress Njamah completed both her basic education (primary and secondary school) and obtained both her First School Leaving Certificate and West African Senior School Certificate . After completing her primary and secondary school education, the smooth and glowing face actress proceeded to Olabisi Onabanjo University, Abeokuta, Ogun State where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in English.
Empress officially joined Nigerian movie industry (Nollywood) in 1995 . She started acting when she was a teenager when Nollywood was still in its formative stage and far behind when compared to other movie industries. She launched her professional movie career after completing her University education. The actress grew to prominence in the movie industry after bursting onto the scene in 1995, she got other movie roles from producing such as Red Hot, You Broke My Heart 2, Love of My Life, When Love Die, You Broke My Heart, The Pastor & Harlot, and She Devil. She became highly famous after featuring in top Nollywood movies mentioned above.
She has won several awards and earned lots of nominations as well. In 2012, Empress Njamah was nominated for “Best Supporting Actress at the Africa Movie Academy Awards” but unfortunately lost out to Terry Pheto who pocketed the award. Empress has acted in more than 100 Nollywood movies but she has stopped acting for some reasons unknown perhaps producer are not able to afford her anymore.
She is also widely respected and acknowledge for her philanthropic work. As part of her corporate social responsibility and a way of giving back to the society, in 2006, Empress launched a foundation called “House of Empress” that caters for kids with special needs. Unfortunately, The Egberi papa one of Bayelsa was on record, saying that one of his worst regrets in life was dating the actress Empress Njamah. In retaliation, Empress Njamah fired back saying that she was the one who regretted ever being in a relationship with Timaya.
The actress sued Timaya for assault , after the music legend allegedly pulled her car over, dragged her out and beat her up. The case was later withdrawn from court after some weeks. The dark-skinned controversial actress has gone off the radar in recent times and she is no longer in the news a lot of times. She has focused more on her businesses and philanthropist activities.
