Charlize Theron was born 27 November 1947 in Benoni, in the then-Transvaal Province (now Gauteng Province) of South Africa, and she happens to be the only child of Gerda Jacoba Aletta (née Maritz) and Charles Jacobus Theron. Her great-great-uncle was a famous man known as Second Boer War figure Danie Theron She is from an Afrikaner family, and her ancestry includes Dutch as well as French and German; her French forebears were early Huguenot settlers in South Africa.[9] “Theron” is an Occitan surname (originally spelled Théron) pronounced in Afrikaans as [trɔn].

She was bred by her biological parents in their farm near Johannesburg. Unfortunately, her father was a drunk who was fond of always threatening the life of both little Charlize and her mother after having enough to drink, there was a lot of physical and emotional abuse in the family , her mother did all she could to make him a better man but all her efforts proved abortive. The sad one happened when Theron’s mother shot her father claiming she did it in self defence. As a result of the cogent reason she gave in court, she never faced any charge.

Career And Success

According to the wealthy actress, she said she sees herself as an actress. She started her professional modelling career at the age of 16 when she won a one-year modelling contract at a local competition in Salerno and with her mother moved to Milan, Italy. She was a model during her stay in Europe, they later relocated to the US, both New York City and Miami. While in New York, she attended the Joffrey Ballet School, where she trained as a ballet dancer until a knee injury closed this career path.

When she clocked 19, she moved to Los Angeles to launch her acting career. Fortunately, she ran into agent, John Crosby, in a Hollywood Boulevard bank. He introduced her to casting agents. Theron met Stuart Townsend on the set of 2002’s “Trapped” and they started dating officially. They lived together in Los Angeles and Ireland for many years before their relationship head for the rock when she came back from a holiday in Mexico in January 2010.

She started dating actor Sean Penn in December 2013. They made their engagement known to the public December 2014. Theron ended their relationship in June 2015.
